1. Set up an identity
Konvoro creates a dedicated communication identity on the iPhone. No phone number, email address or address book access is required.
2. Connect personally
A connection begins with a personal invitation. The recipient accepts it; only then is the secure channel established.
3. Send a message or photo
You can send text messages and photos captured directly inside Konvoro.
4. Read and close
New messages are indicated without exposing their content in the overview. After reading, the content is not intended to become permanent chat history.
Device change
A Konvoro identity belongs to one device. A new device receives a new identity and must be invited again.
5. Make secure calls
Existing Konvoro contacts can call each other directly. Incoming calls are presented while Konvoro is in the background or the iPhone is locked. An individual ringtone can be selected per contact.
6. Use capture protection
Open an existing one-to-one connection and enable capture protection from the person menu. The switch applies to new text messages, photos and voice messages that you send to this contact afterwards. Content already sent keeps its individual protection state.
When protection is enabled at send time, the protection request is cryptographically bound to the individual Konvoro message. On the recipient’s iPhone, Konvoro hides the protected content while iOS detects active screen recording, mirroring, AirPlay or remote control. Playback of a protected voice message is stopped while capture is active.
Capture protection applies only to your outgoing content. For messages sent to you, the contact must enable capture protection separately.
An individual screenshot is an iOS limitation: Konvoro is notified only after the screenshot has been taken. Konvoro therefore cannot reliably prevent previously visible content from appearing in that screenshot and shows a notice afterwards.
